AMSilk raises €52 million to scale production

German innovator will use investment to fund the next stage of the industrial scale up of its biodegradable silk-based proteins

NEURIED – German biotech company AMSilk has raised €52 million ($61m) in a funding round which it plans to use to support the next phase of its industrial scale-up.

AMSilk creates novel, sustainable biomaterials by reprogramming microorganisms to produce silk-based proteins which claim the same high-performance properties as real spider silk.
