German fashion trade bodies outline EPR plan

A group of textile and fashion industry trade associations in Germany have come together to publish a development framework for an extended producer responsibility (EPR) system for clothing and other consumer textiles.

In line with the planned implementation of the EU Waste Framework Directive, the associations have presented a joint position paper containing six key points aimed at actively shaping the design of a system that encompasses industry-specific characteristics such as material flows, usage phases, and return methods.
