Californian PET recycling closures threaten sector

Legislators in the US state are being urged to act following the closure of a second major PET recycler this year

VERNON - Industry stakeholders are calling on agencies and legislators to intervene after the closure in the US state of California of the second large-scale PET recycler this year.

The closure of rPlanet Earth, a vertically integrated PET recycler and packaging manufacturer based in Vernon, earlier this month followed Evergreen Recycling’s partial closure in February due to “economic factors”.
