Bank agrees $30m green finance for denim mill

Asian Development Bank issues its first sustainability-linked loan in Bangladesh to leading denim manufacturer Envoy Textiles

DHAKA — The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has signed a $30 million sustainability-linked loan facility agreement with Bangladesh denim manufacturer Envoy Textiles.

Envoy, which boasts the world’s first LEED-certified platinum denim mill, will use the money to fund a new energy-efficient spinning unit and install rooftop solar panels.
