Opinions remain split on new PFAS proposals

Legal proposals for bans of PFAS in both Europe and the USA need to be tweaked if they are to avoid the slippery slope into unintended consequences

A sheet of ultra-low friction PTFE, incorporated into a single jet dyeing machine, can reduce the liquor ratio (of water to fabric) from around 7:1 to 5:1 by stopping damp fabric from getting stuck to the internal steel walls.

For a typical 500 kg dyeing machine, this can save around 90,000,000 litres of water and around 4000 tonnes of CO2 emissions over a typical 15-year lifetime, compared to a conventional machine.
