Clariant launches ‘sustainable’ catalyst for recycled polyester

Use of titanium-based catalyst set to transform polyester polymerisation by replacing heavy metals

New product targeted at polyester resin manufacturers, fibre producers and PET recyclers

Textile chemical specialist Clariant has launched a new titanium-based catalyst solution for polyester production which it claims helps reduce energy consumption and lower wastewater treatment costs during the manufacturing process.

Targeted at polyester resin manufacturers, fibre producers and PET recyclers, AddWorks is said to offer a more sustainable and high-performance alternative to traditional antimony-based catalysts, addressing environmental concerns and simplifying PET recycling to support circularity.
