California warns 4,000 companies to prepare for climate laws

SACRAMENTO - Californian officials have published a list of more than 4,000 companies in the apparel sector, and others, which it says will have to comply with its two landmark climate disclosure laws.

Abercrombie, Adidas, Nike, Gap and Urban Outfitters are among about 4,150 companies which will be covered by SB 253, which sets greenhouse-gas emissions reporting requirements, and SB 261, which does the same for climate-related financial-risk disclosures.
