Pioneering the World’s First Chemical Textile-to-Textile Recycling Technology to Redefine Sustainability in Textiles

SINGTEX® Group, a global leader in performance and sustainable textiles, proudly announces its R&D 100 Award-winning innovation — RePUra by the Circu-Texfilm Project.
This breakthrough represents the world’s first chemical textile-to-textile patented recycling solution for complex composite textiles, successfully solving one of the most persistent challenges in the industry and opening a new chapter for true circularity in global textile sustainability.

From Waste to Regeneration: A Revolutionary Chemical Breakthrough

Each year, more than 120 million tons of textile waste are generated worldwide, yet less than 1% can be recycled into new textiles.
Most waterproof and breathable apparel is made of composite materials combining polyurethane (PU), polyester, and spandex, which are extremely difficult to separate and recycle using traditional mechanical methods.

RePUra utilizes innovative chemical depolymerization and repolymerization technology to break down PU-rich composite waste into high-purity molecular components and regenerate them into high-performance recycled polyurethane materials.
This breakthrough achieves molecular-level circularity, giving new life to textile waste once considered impossible to recycle.

Simplified Process for Infinite Circularity

Unlike conventional recycling that requires complex sorting or decolorizing, RePUra can directly process textile waste and used garments of any color or composition, significantly streamlining the process while reducing carbon emissions.
The resulting recycled materials are low-carbon and non-fluorinated, aligning with global sustainability goals and corporate ESG commitments.

Performance Elevated: The Perfect Balance of Function and Sustainability

RePUra represents not only a sustainability breakthrough but also a major advancement in textile performance.
Its lightweight recycled membrane delivers exceptional functionality, achieving a waterproof rating exceeding 20,000 mmH₂O and a moisture vapor transmission rate over 20,000 g/m²·24hrs, ensuring both protection and comfort.
These ultra waterproof, breathable, flexible, and lightweight fabrics are ideal for outdoor apparel, footwear, military gear, and medical applications.

With a recycled content exceeding 50%, RePUra surpasses global sustainability standards and reinforces SINGTEX®’s commitment to combining high performance with environmental responsibility.

Leading the Future of Textile Circularity

Recognized by the R&D 100 Awards for its innovation and global impact, RePUra marks a significant milestone in driving the textile industry’s sustainable transformation.
SINGTEX® continues to advance a traceable and circular textile value chain, proving that recycling is not the end, but the beginning of renewal.

“RePUra is more than a technological innovation — it is the embodiment of sustainable evolution,” said a SINGTEX® spokesperson.
“Performance Redefined. A Sustainable Future.” remains the driving belief behind our mission to lead the textile industry forward toward a truly circular future.
