Worker jailed for forming union in Cambodian shoe factory wins back his job and $50,000 compensation

PHNOM PENH - A Cambodian worker who was imprisoned after forming an independent union at a major supplier to ASICS and Muji has been reinstated with $50,000 compensation.

The case at the Wing Star Shoes factory was hailed a major victory for garment workers’ rights in the region by the US-based Worker Rights Consortium (WRS).
