BGMEA urges members not to comply with RSC moves to widen its complaints mechanism beyond occupational safety

DHAKA - Bangladesh’s key garment industry bodies are embroiled in a dispute over expanded worker rights oversight in the country’s readymade garment (RMG) sector.

The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has publicly urged its members not to comply with newly proposed non-safety-related workplace monitoring requirements set by the RMG Sustainability Council (RSC).
