H&M, Gap and PVH Corp backed bid to protect garment workers at Indian factory was launched after the rape and murder of a 20-year-old woman in 2021

DINDIGUL - Binding commitments between brands, suppliers and unions have successfully prevented and remediated gender-based violence and harassment (GBVH) in garment factories in India, according to a new report.

After a comprehensive three-year evaluation, Cornell University's Global Labor Institute found "overwhelming evidence" that the Dindigul Agreement, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, had met its goals.
