CLERMONT-FERRAND – Biotech firm Carbios and Wankai New Materials – a subsidiary of Chinese PET giant Zhink Group – have formally signed a definitive joint venture agreement to build what will be one of Asia’s first large-scale PET biorecycling plants in China.

The deal solidifies the partnership announced in November, moving beyond a memorandum of understanding and providing more details on the proposed long-term rollout of Carbios’ biorecycling technology across Asia, with a particular focus on China.
