France’s controversial new environmental labelling law for fashion is facing a formal challenge from impact specialist Glimpact

PARIS – France’s new environmental labelling law for fashion has been officially challenged by Paris-based environmental impact specialist Glimpact, which has filed an application with the French Council of State seeking its annulment.

Under the new ‘Eco-score’ law, which came into effect on 1st October 2025 and is currently optional, fashion and textile products are to be assigned a single score, based on environmental points, to reflect a product’s impact.
