Italy sweatshop investigation widens to 13 luxury brands

MILAN - Italian prosecutors have expanded their investigation into labour exploitation in luxury fashion supply chains, requesting documents from 13 major brands including Gucci, Prada, Versace and Yves Saint Laurent.

Milan police this week visited the headquarters of the companies, asking them to hand over governance documents and supply chain controls as part of an investigation into alleged worker abuse at Chinese-owned subcontractors, according to judicial documents.
