New STICA report says its apparel brand and textile signatories are making climate progress, but better legislation is key for further acceleration.

STOCKHOLM – The Scandinavian Textile Initiative for Climate Action (STICA) has released a new report which says that while many brands and retailers are advancing on climate commitments, inadequate and weak policy frameworks are obscuring emissions reductions.

STICA’s 2025 Company Climate Action Program Progress Report analysed its 53 company signatories and found that a growing number of apparel and textile firms have reduced their absolute emissions and aligned targets with the 1.5°C pathway.
