EU finalises simplified sustainability packages

BRUSSELS – The European Union has finalised an Omnibus simplification package that will materially alter corporate sustainability reporting and due diligence obligations, following swift political movement in Brussels last week.

Member States’ Ambassadors endorsed a provisional agreement at the COREPER II meeting on 10th December, and the European Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee (JURI) adopted the provisional text on 11th December, which was then confirmed in plenary vote on December 16^th, 2025.
