Sweden’s Sysav to sell ‘world‑first’ Siptex textile sorting facility as post‑consumer recycling markets stall
MALMÖ – Swedish waste‑to‑energy operator Sysav is seeking a buyer for its flagship Siptex textile‑sorting plant in Malmö, saying that markets and policy have failed to keep pace with its world‑first auto mated sorting technology for post‑consumer clothing.
The municipally owned company has now given its board a formal mandate to initiate a divestment process for Siptex, a fully automated near‑infrared sorting line designed to separate used textiles by fibre type and colour to feed mechanical and chemical recyclers.
