Japanese company restarts manufacture of traceable, closed‑loop filament four years after a major fire shut down its only production facility

NOBEOKO - Japanese textile chemical company Asahi Kasei is to restart production of its 'sustainable' Bemberg cupro fibre at restored sections of its Nobeoka plant in Japan - nearly four years after a serious fire halted operations.

The phased restart follows significant investment in safety upgrades and plant restoration, and comes as the company seeks to reassure brands and retailers relying on the world’s only dedicated Bemberg supply.
