EU reveals proposals for textiles ecodesign

Online workshop spells out latest position, marking a significant step towards mandatory sustainability criteria for the sector

BRUSSELS - The European Commission and Joint Research Centre (JRC) has outlined key proposals for future ecodesign requirements for apparel textiles under the EU's Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).

During an online workshop held this week, the Commission presented its third milestone in the preliminary study on apparel textiles, with stakeholders now having until 23rd March to submit feedback before work begins on the Textiles Delegated Act.
