Danish fashion giant pays its staff $12.4 million in sustainability-linked bonuses after claiming to have met its internal targets

BRANDE - As fashion grapples with economic headwinds and the realities of embedding sustainability into operations, Danish group Bestseller has delivered around DKK 80 million ($12.4M) in sustainability-linked bonuses to staff after meeting internal environmental targets.

With sustainability momentum declining across much of the apparel sector, Bestseller’s move signals corporate confidence in long-term sustainability integration, even as others are scaling back.

The bonus equates to “an extra week’s salary” for thousands of Bestseller staff, tied directly to performance against sustainability metrics embedded in the company’s core business areas.
