Nature-inspired ‘POMbranes’ promise cleaner textile wastewater

BHAVNAGAR - New membrane technology inspired by natural water channels could sharply cut the energy and water footprint of textile dyehouses in India and beyond, according to a new scientific study.

Researchers in India and Singapore developed ultra‑selective 'POMbranes' – crystalline membranes that act like molecular sieves through which only small molecules can pass through, while bigger ones, like dye molecules, are blocked.
