MENTOR – Materials science and digital identification giant Avery Dennison has published a new white paper arguing that radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology will be critical to scaling textile sorting and tackling the issue of textile waste.
The paper, titled ‘RFID for Circularity: Unlocking circular business models for fashion through intelligent sorting’, positions embedded RFID as the missing link between mounting policy pressure, rising post-consumer waste volumes and underdeveloped recycling infrastructure.
