Egypt’s cotton sector targets 22% export growth

The Apparel Export Council of Egypt (AECE) has set a target of a record $4.4 billion in garment exports for 2026, underpinned by a wave of Chinese and Turkish investment in new manufacturing capacity.

Chair Fadel Marzouk says the goal requires growth of 22% on 2025, when exports surpassed $3 billion for the first time, driven largely by expansions at existing Egyptian factories.
