Carmine Di Noia opens the OECD Forum on Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector with a call for action instead of words
PARIS - Global trade shocks, climate risk and intensifying regulation are placing unprecedented pressure on the garment and footwear industry to turn due diligence “from words into action”, OECD director for financial and enterprise affairs Carmine Di Noia told delegates in Paris as he opened the 12th OECD Forum on Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector.
Addressing more than 2,000 participants on-site and online, Di Noia warned that between “saying, talking, and really acting, there is the sea,” stressing that: “there are many obstacles between words and acting, and obstacles that we have to navigate together to really have good results.”
