For the next installment of our public interest reporting on environmental multistakeholder initiatives involved in the global textile and apparel sector, we take a closer look at the Apparel Impact Institute.
Well known for its work around identifying and funding work to decarbonise textile supply chains, Aii as its known, seeks match funding from brands, philanthropy, and financial institutions to help the industry reach net zero by 2050.
Apparel Impact Institute (Aii) appears, on the numbers in its latest 2024 Form 990, to be in robust financial health with some emerging pressure points around cash, credit risk and a fast‑rising cost base.
Aii generated total revenue of US$14.17 million in 2024, up from US$11.53 million in the prior year, with contributions and grants (US$10.79 million) still the dominant income stream. Programme service revenue rose to US$3.08 million.
