Cotton made in Africa increases traceability

HAMBURG – The Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF) has reported that its Cotton made in Africa (CmiA) initiative has reached a new record number of partners, with around 700 suppliers, textile manufacturers and brands in 25 countries – more than double the previous year’s figure.

Companies including Bestseller, the Otto Group, OVS, Primark, and the Rewe Group bring products to market through the scheme using cotton which according to AbTF can be traced from bale to yarn to fabric to finished product.
