Toolbox to check recycled cotton content

ENSCHEDE - A laboratory 'toolbox' could give brands, regulators and watchdogs a way to independently check the recycled cotton content of garments – and distinguish pre‑ from post‑consumer feedstock, according to a new study.

Led by researchers at Saxion University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands and published in the peer-reviewed Scientific Reports, it responds to EU circular textile policies and growing concern over greenwashing in recycled fibre claims.
