India’s first independent union of Amazon warehouse workers calls for binding protection against extreme heat

NEW DELHI - The absence of enforceable indoor heat standards under India's Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (OSHWC) Code leaves workers exposed to escalating climate risk, according to a new indepedent trade union.

In a move which could have far-reaching implicagtions for the textile and apparel sector, the Amazon India Workers Union (AIWU) has submitted detailed recommendations to the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
