AAFA warns EU over forced labour law

WASHINGTON DC / BRUSSELS - The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) has urged the European Union (EU) to avoid a “black box” enforcement model as it moves to implement its new Forced Labour Regulation (FLR).

The FLR, adopted in late 2024, will ban any product made with forced labour from being placed on, or exported from, the EU market from December 2027, regardless of where or at what stage of the supply chain the abuse occurs.
