New tool aims to help brands and their suppliers measure energy use and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at manufacturing facilities worldwide

SAN FRANCISCO – The Apparel Impact Institute (Aii) has launched its 'Energy and Carbon Benchmark', a new tool designed to give fashion brands and their suppliers a common reference point for measuring energy use and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at textile manufacturing facilities worldwide.

First revealed by Ecotextile News in September 2024, the benchmark aims to move the sector beyond fragmented, self-reported averages towards consistent, process-level performance data for spinning, weaving, knitting, wet processing and garment making.
