Xinjiang textile production surging, official claims

BEIJING – Xinjiang’s textile industry expanded significantly last year, with rises in production creating tens of thousands of jobs despite US-led sanctions, a senior official in the region has claimed.

Wang Kuiran, secretary general of the far western Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region government, pledged stronger support for companies affected by the restrictions.
