Bangladesh exporters often charge more than 10% lower prices in the US and absorb customs duties.

DHAKA – A study by Bangladesh‑based think‑tank Research and Policy Integration for Development (RAPID), recently presented at the University of Dhaka, finds that for the top ten garment products, Bangladeshi firms obtain on average 5 – 18% higher prices in the EU than in the US market, despite supplying similar items to both destinations.

For key categories such as T‑shirts and trousers, a recent report in the Financial Express says exporters receive roughly 20 – 27% higher prices in Germany than in the US for T‑shirts and 9 – 15% more for trousers.
