Apparel brands face harder deforestation deadlines and must now publish delivery plans under revised land and agriculture guidance
LONDON – The Science Based Targets initiative has issued Version 1.2 of its Forest, Land and Agriculture (FLAG) Science-Based Target-Setting Guidance, effective immediately, with direct implications for fashion and apparel companies sourcing cotton, wool, leather and cellulosic fibres.
The revision closes a loophole that allowed brands with existing non-FLAG science-based targets to defer land-sector commitments for up to six months after the GHG Protocol Land Sector and Removals Standard was finalised.
