Climate-resilient push for Ethiopia’s mills

ADDIS ABABA - The International Labour Organization (ILO) has launched a one-year initiative with the Government of Japan to build a more climate-resilient, productive and socially responsible leather, textile and garment sector in Ethiopia.

Targeting 40 factories across key industrial hubs, the project combines enterprise-level capacity building with national policy support to help the sector respond to climate risks, occupational safety and health (OSH) challenges and evolving market demands.
