CLERMONT-FERRAND – French biotech Carbios has reaffirmed its plans to build a flagship PET biorecycling plant at Longlaville, eastern France, after outlining a new project-finance structure and governance changes intended to unlock delayed funding.

In an update following earlier postponements, the company said talks with public and private partners over a revised funding package for 'Carbios 54', the dedicated project company for Longlaville, are now “progressing constructively”, with a target to close the deal by the third quarter of 2026.
