Secondhand fashion is still racing ahead but ThredUp’s 14th Resale Report suggests the market’s easy gains could be coming to an end

OAKLAND – ThredUp’s 14th annual Resale Report projects the global secondhand apparel market will reach $393 billion by 2030 - about 10% of total fashion spend and growing at twice the rate of overall apparel retail.

The online resale specialist says US resale grew nearly four times faster than the broader US clothing market in 2025 and forecasts the domestic market alone will hit $78.8 billion by the end of the decade.
