Walmart and REI back Unspun reshoring plan

SAN FRANCISCO – Major American brands Walmart and REI have backed plans developed by textile innovator Unspun to rebuild domestic manufacturing capacity in the US using a next-generation production system.

The brands, together with key supply chain partners, have signed letters of support for Unspun's initiative to bring apparel manufacturing closer to consumers at a commercial scale by using an AI-enabled 3D weaving technology.
