IndustriALL says ILO bid to improve garment worker rights in Bangladesh is failing to secure factory level improvements
DHAKA - Bangladesh’s long-promised roadmap for garment workers is showing signs of stalling with legal reforms yet to deliver meaningful gains for workers on the ground, according to the IndustriALL global union.
The roadmap was launched by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in 2021 to address long-standing challenges over freedom of association, labour inspection, anti-union discrimination and labour law reform.
