Ecco and Spinnova bring a five-year leather by-product collaboration to market with the release of a limited-edition shoe

JYVÄSKYLÄ — Footwear brand Ecco has launched what it describes as the world's first shoe incorporating textile fibre made from leather production waste, developed in partnership with Finnish fibre innovator Spinnova.

The limited-edition Ecco Biom 720 uses fibre produced via Respin, the 50/50 joint venture between Spinnova and ECCO, originally established in 2020 with leather supplier KT Trading.
