Australian biomaterials firm claims efficiency gains and scale-up milestones for its microbial cellulose-based Nullarbor lyocell fibre

PERTH — Australian biomaterials innovator Nanollose has completed a fourth pilot spin of its Nullarbor forest-friendly lyocell fibre during the March quarter, producing 580kg of fibre and validating direct integration of microbial cellulose into existing lyocell lines without additional pre-processing.

The run used a 200kg batch of microbial cellulose supplied by Hainan Guangyu Biotechnology, yielding 425kg of Nullarbor-25 and 155kg of Nullarbor-30 fibre blends with FSC-certified wood pulp.
