The EU’s Forced Labour Regulation is edging closer – and brands still relying on China as a key sourcing hub face mounting risk, a leading Xinjiang researcher has warned.
Adrian Zenz, director and senior research fellow in China studies at the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, told Ecotextile News that new testimony shows Uyghur workers were still being mobilised from Xinjiang’s cotton fields as recently as autumn 2023.
