Industry aligns on green factory standards

SAN FRANCISCO – Supply chain sustainability body Cascale has published a new industry-wide definition of what it calls ‘Foundational Environmental Performance’ (FEP) — a new baseline standard for environmental management practices aimed at global textile manufacturing facilities.

For brands and retailers, the FEP could provide a more consistent data foundation when assessing factory-level environmental risk. Cascale’s own data shows significant variation in Higg FEM performance across the supply chain, and the body says the new baseline should help narrow that gap over time.
