Sustainability investment is moving ahead in Turkey’s textile sector as factory closures highlight cost and competitiveness pressures

The project is aimed at helping Turkish suppliers respond to buyer requirements

ISTANBUL - A project led by the Aegean Textile and Raw Materials Exporters’ Association (ETHİB) is aiming to build capacity in sustainable production, carbon management, energy efficiency and circular textiles.

However, the wider industry backdrop remains less positive, with Sözcü reporting that 20 textile factories have recently closed, underscoring the pressure on Turkish textile manufacturers.
