Full process chain to produce 100% bio-based nylon 66 from cassava pulp, targeting textile sales by 2028

Toray and PTT signed an initial MoU in 2024

TOKYO - Toray Industries and Thailand-based PTT Global Chemical have established a complete manufacturing process for 100% bio-based nylon 66 using adipic acid derived from cassava pulp residues.

Following an initial MoU signed in 2024, the partners aim to build a commercial supply chain and start sales of textiles based on the new polymer by the 2028 financial year.
