TURIN – Researchers have demonstrated that applying a plasma-assisted chitosan finish to polyester fabric can reduce the release of synthetic microfibres (MPFs) during laundering.

The study evaluated several plasma-assisted chemical surface modifications on 100% polyester interlock knitted fabric — one of the most widely used synthetic fabrics in apparel production.
