UN chemicals framework targets textiles

GENEVA – The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has confirmed that a dedicated implementation programme for the textiles sector will be a central focus of summit it will hold in Switzerland later this year.

It marks the first major intergovernmental gathering under the global framework on chemicals (GFC) — a framework adopted in September 2023 at the fifth international conference on chemicals management (ICCM5) in Bonn.
