Extreme heat ‘disrupting garment production’

NEW YORK — Extreme heat is already disrupting garment production across South and Southeast Asia, harming workers’ health and supply chain resilience, according to a new report from the NYU Stern Center for Business and Human Rights

The study says brands must stop treating heat as a peripheral environmental issue and manage it as an occupational health and safety risk. It is based on original field research in India and a survey of global apparel and footwear companies.
