Chinese team spins ultra-tough cellulose fibres using cherry-bark-inspired microfluidics to rival spider silk for textile applications
HEFEI — Scientists in China say they have developed a new plant-based fibre that is almost as tough as spider silk and could be used to make next-generation textiles.
The material, created by researchers at Anhui Agricultural University and Zhejiang University, is described in a new paper in the journal Nature Communications.
