NZ study backs regulated textile stewardship

AUCKLAND — New research commissioned by the Textile Advisory Group (TAG) and conducted by consultancy Eunomia has found that a regulated product stewardship (RPS) scheme for textiles in New Zealand could generate a net economic benefit of up to NZD $602 million by 2038.

The report, Regulated Product Stewardship for Textiles in Aotearoa New Zealand: A Cost Benefit Analysis, funded by the Clare Foundation, models two RPS pathways — a modest scenario and a high-ambition scenario.
