Transformers questions viability of traceability schemes

NEW YORK - Denim industry non-profit, The Transformers Foundation has warned that prevailing fibre and textile traceability models will structurally fail emerging EU and US regulatory requirements because they describe supply chains rather than prove product‑level claims.

Drawing on recent EU guidance, US forced‑labour enforcement and established conformity‑assessment standards, the report, ‘The End of Fiction’, cautions that regulators now expect verifiable evidence tied to individual products, rather than certifications, digital records or programme participation.
